There are a lot of constellations. I mean, like, a lot!! There are 88 constellations in total. A fun way to remember that is to think of how many keys are on a piano, 88! and that's how many constellations there are!
What are constellations? Well, constellations are basically pictures that stars made in the sky! In all seriousness, constellations are groups of stars in the sky that form a picture. People discovered them by looking through telescopes and connecting the dimmer stars and brighter stars to form a shape, then, they name it.
Some of the most popular constellations are the zodiacs. The zodiacs consist of 12 constellations, Aquarius, the Water Carrier, Aires, The Ram, Cancer, the Crab, Capricornus, the Sea Goat, Gemini, the Twins, Leo, the Lion, Libra, the Scale, Pisces, the Fish, Sagittarius, the Archer, Scorpius, the Scorpion, Taurus, the Bull, and Virgo, the young Maiden.
Some other very popular constellations are Ursa Major, the great bear, Ursa Minor, the small bear, Orion, The Hunter, and Draco, The Dragon.
As an addition, I'm going to put some of my personal favorite constellations! Starting with Ophiuchus, The Serpent Barer, Hydra, The Female Water Snake, Andromeda, Princess Andromeda, and Sagittarius, the Archer.
